traditional magic is the most common, most pure, and most popular form of magic. for this character's purposes, traditional magic will encompass any magic that is "light" or not inherently dark in nature.spells. rituals. potions. basic superpowers.it should be noted that traditional magic draws upon nature. nature is always seeking to balance itself. every action has a similar or worse reaction. that said, magic has tons of fine prints and loopholes.

abilities
kai's abiities cover the spectrum of pyrokinesis and some psychic realms.pyrokinesis: due to the nature of kai's coven, his pyrokinesis is quite chaotic in nature–able to damage, destroy, and consume on apocalyptic levels. this is by far kai's most developed ability.extrasensory perception: he's so psychically in tune with his senses that he often finds himself just "getting" things–able to understand intuitively all sorts of information. this is mostly passive for him (an instinctual reaction), but through some methods, he can tap into the active parts of this ability (using divination).

dark magic uses malevolent forces to deliberately cause harm in some way (e.g. to injure or kill, to cause destruction or misfortune, to profit only for oneself). for ease of understanding, dark magic will be any type of magic opposite of traditional magic, i.e. against the balance of nature. nature greatly disfavors dark magic, and its consequences are swift and painful.dark magic, for this character's purposes, will carry the following things under its umbrella: voodoo, sacrificial magic, blood magic, necromancy, shamanism, curses and hexes, and immortality rituals.
limitsdark magic always comes with dark consequences. while traditional magic is taxing on the body, dark magic is taxing on the soul. it eats the heart and poisons the mind. every time kai uses dark magic, he becomes a fraction darker.
this will be a work in progress.however, just know that kai has guns.he has a collection that he loves–which is missing two gold guns because he's a rhino when he's angry.
basic magical decrees#1: don't interrupt the cycle of life. period. every creature in the world and universe is born, lives and dies uninterruptedly. if the cycle is interrupted, the consequences will be chaotic and they can take a long time to restore.#2: respect the dead. to use necromancy to revive a human, it must be some time after its death (usually immediately after), because after that point, nature takes its course and the material begins to decompose–and revival after this point will violate rule #1.#3: accept your magic. any outright denial of one's magical abilities is a gross mistake of nature that will cause nature to strip their magic until the person accepts their nature and fulfill their magical duties.#4: be competent. witches must have adequate training and maturity when using magic.#5: no complete creation or destruction. the powers that be forbid magical beings from creating anything out of nothing or destroying anything with life-force or magical substance completely.#6: create new species with caution. the creation of a new species can happen as necessary to maintain the balance of nature without compromising other life forms on earth.that said, magic is an extension of nature. nature is constantly trying to find balance. in this effort, all spells have loopholes and fine prints.
